Introduction
Kim David Software now offers financial coaching services to its clients and people serving in missions.
My name is Kim Geiger and you are using the software designed and built by myself for missions organizations. As it turned out, the software became useful to numerous businesses as well, but my original goal was software that would serve the Christian missions world. My family has served in missions all our lives, including 35+ years in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and over 12 years with Every Home for Christ.
When we served in YWAM, we were responsible for raising our own support. God was always faithful and came through for us when we needed, but finances were always a struggle for our family. Now that we are on the other side of that and find ourselves financially secure, we want to use what we've learned and experienced to help others, especially those in missions, reach their financial goals. We got out of debit in 2024, including our mortgage, but I absolutely believe that we could have gotten out of debt 10 years earlier if we had had some good financial coaching. With those things in mind, in 2025, I started the Ramsey Solutions Financial Coaching course to become a certified Dave Ramsey Financial Coach.
What is a Financial Coach?
A financial coach is a guide who joins you on your journey. They’re there to help—think of them as your personal cheerleader. The Ramsey approach has helped 10's of millions to get out of debt and come to a place of financial peace. Financial struggles are typically 80% behavior and 20% math. The financial coach will help you address both of these. Typically, a financial coach will:
- Help you uncover your financial goals, which can include paying off debt and saving for the future
- Work with you to make a plan (so you’ll actually achieve those goals)
- Hold you accountable to that plan (with a budget that works)
- Help you change your money behaviors
- Cheer you on through all your wins—from small to big
A financial coach can help you find answers for questions like:
- Can I afford to buy a house?
- How do I get out of debt?
- How can I be sure I have enough set aside for retirement?
- What do I do when I have a financial emergency?
A financial coach does NOT:
- Help you with investment advice, other than general principles. For specific investment advice, you would need to talk to an investment pro.
- Help you with strategies and techniques for raising support.
- Give you legal advice of any kind. The financial coach would refer you to a legal expert for those types of things.
